Malaysia seizes 697 units of unapproved retatrutide as Lilly readies its FDA filing
Malaysia's Health Ministry told Parliament it seized 697 units of unregistered retatrutide in 12 raids since 2025. Lilly's triple agonist is still in Phase 3, with a US filing planned for the first quarter of 2027, so no product can be legally sold.

Retatrutide weight loss plateau hopes outpace the Phase 3 evidence
A UK GP says she will switch patients stuck on Mounjaro to Lilly's retatrutide once it is approved. The Phase 3 data show large losses against placebo, but no switch study, more side effects at the top dose, and a US filing not due until early 2027.

Retatrutide side effects rise with dose in the Ozempic head to head trial
Lilly's triple agonist beat the top Ozempic dose on A1C and weight in TRANSCEND-T2D-2, but 7.9% on the higher dose stopped for adverse events versus 2.7% on Ozempic. The lower dose kept most of the benefit.
-
Retatrutide vs Ozempic Phase 3 trial doubles weight loss in type 2 diabetes
Lilly's weekly triple agonist lowered A1C more than the top Ozempic dose and roughly doubled its weight loss at 80 weeks in TRANSCEND-T2D-2. The data are topline and open label, and more people stopped the higher dose for side effects.

Retatrutide sleep apnea benefit was larger without diabetes in the TRIUMPH OSA trials
Two phase 3 TRIUMPH substudies in 691 adults, published in NEJM, show the Lilly triple agonist lowering the apnea hypopnea index well beyond placebo over 80 weeks. Gains were smaller in people with type 2 diabetes.

Retatrutide kidney trial lowers albuminuria while measured GFR holds flat
In the phase 2b TRANSCEND-CKD study, measured filtration did not differ from placebo at 24 weeks, but albuminuria, glomerular pressure and kidney fat fell. Retatrutide stays in phase 3, and the earlier estimated GFR gains now look like a weight loss effect.
